As part of the Office of the Budget Director’s effort to make budget information more accessible to both Council staff and the public, we created an interactive dashboard to easily explore any District agency’s budget.
With this tool, you can navigate an agency budget in more detail. You can select and analyze various components—program, activity, service level, and CSG—within the agency budget structure and see the results in real-time.
Tips for using the budget lookup tool:

The boxes that contain a component’s name in the selection side of the budget look-up tool are proportional to the size of that component’s budget within the agency. Hover over an individual box to reveal the name and the total gross funds budget for that component.

Alternatively, you may manually search for a specific component by typing in the search box to the left of the field: (2) Program Title, (3) Activity Title, (4) Service Title, and (5) CSG.

Start by selecting an agency from the dropdown menu under Agency Name.
After selecting the Agency Name, you MUST click on the corresponding agency name in the Agency selection window. Budget data then populates the results pane on the right.
The results pane on the right will show:
Gross Funds (or total budget), Budget amount by fund type, CSG, and a year-to-year comparison of the budget by fund type.
Click the name of the Program Title you wish to view.
Select the Activity Title within the program that you want to view.
Select a Service Title, if applicable.
Note: some agencies will not have budget data to display for service title. In those instances, the boxes in the selections pane will read “DO NOT CLICK” in red because there is no viewable information for that agency. Skip and move on to filter (5) CSG.
